Jade Born during tranquil and balmy breezes on the beautiful island of Jamaica, Jade (an acronym for Jamaican-American-Destinee’ Empress) is the brainchild behind MICA Runway. A leader destined to make a difference, Jade grew up as a tomboy interested in sports. She developed her mastery of fashion consciousness later, largely influenced by her sister, Marcia Bryan-Brown, a fashion designer and graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology. Jade’s father, a professional photographer and entrepreneur, also passed along a calling in business, where she demonstrates a dynamic entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for the arts.

Jade followed in her sister’s footsteps by attending the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she received an associate degree in advertising design. She later discovered another hidden talent for filmmaking and became the first Deaf person to earn a bachelor degree in a film production program from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts in 1993.

Jade has years of experience in show business, producing films, talent management, event coordinating, fundraising, and marketing research, as well as teaching, writing, theater directing and business administration. Additionally, Jade is the founder of DeafVision Filmworks, Inc. and Jade Films and Entertainment, LLC. Under the auspices of her production company, Jade Films and Entertainment, one of her goals is to form an agency exclusively focused on producing fashion shows, coordinating model recruitment and managing talent.

Jade impressed celebrity judges: British Entrepreneur, Peter Jones; George Foreman, inventor of the George Foreman Grills; Sara Blakely, inventor of Spanx; and Pat Croce, former owner of the Philadelphia 76ers by appearing on ABC’s American Inventor Show, a primetime national television network. The show aired on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 9PM. American Inventor was viewed by millions of people. Jade advanced through three rounds to the top three semi-finalist out of a thousand striving inventors representing New York. She invented and designed a couple of Ready-to-Wear Speaker Gear.

Jade has established a powerful mindset visualization that she WILL receive a buy-in from one of the sponsors or company for her products so they can be put on the store shelves soon. She believes in her invention and will stop at nothing until she secure a deal with a manufacturer. In the meantime, she continues to produce films addressing a variety of social issues. Her indestructible positive attitude and motto is if you have a passion for something, then keep doing what you love doing. You need to BELIEVE.
